The hand-draped rouching gives the skirt so much structure, and it somehow stays light despite all that volume. I left the suspender straps on for a gallery opening and felt completely put together, then took them off at home and it turned into the softest lounge piece.
I wore this to a dinner and ended up leaving the suspender straps on all night because they looked too good to remove. The off-white silk is crisp enough to hold that sculpted shape without feeling stiff. Volume is real, it's basically a puffball in skirt form.
The hand-draped rouching gives it this sculptural puffball shape that photos honestly don't do justice. I wore it with the suspenders clipped on for a dinner and the silk stayed crisp all night without wrinkling. Off-white was a bit of a gamble with red wine nearby, but it survived.
